Who Do We Serve?

At Hearts & Horses Therapeutic Riding Center, our mission is to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social well-being of people with special needs through equine-assisted services. We serve the Northern Colorado region and have participants in four counties! learn more about us by reading last year’s annual report!

Where Does the Funding Go?

Hearts & Horses underwrites 61% of the cost of all services to keep our programs accessible, and 43% of participants receive additional financial support through our scholarship program. In fiscal year 2024–2025 alone, we awarded $645,527 in scholarships. We never turn a participant away due to an inability to pay—and that’s thanks to donors like you. When you give to Hearts & Horses, you can feel confident your support is making a real impact: 88 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to programming for our participants.

meet our emcee: ann judge and Thunder!

Our 2026 Lucky Hearts Gala emcee is Ann Judge, who rides and trains the 1993-2026 NFL Denver Broncos mascot, Thunder! This iconic duo has fearlessly led the Broncos onto the field since 1993, including four Super Bowl appearances!

Ann is an accomplished equestrian who has ridden horses since she was five years old. She knows the power that comes from horses both physically and emotionally and is excited to help move the Hearts & Horses mission forward at the Lucky Hearts Gala on Saturday, September 12, 2026!

The 26th annual Hearts & Horses Lucky Hearts Gala will be held at the Embassy Suites in Loveland on Saturday, September 12, 2026, starting at 5:00 pm. Attire is “classy Colorado Western.”

There will be a delicious dinner with surf & turf and vegan plate options, as well as our famous live and silent auctions, casino games, Hearts & Horses program highlights, line dancing, and more!
