American Sign Language Basics
October 9, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Presenter: Gina Burd – ASL Interpreter
Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of American Sign Language! My name is Gina and I was the staff interpreter at CSU for 35 years and have been involved with the deaf community for over 40. I would love to share some basic sign communications skills with you to foster open, caring and successful interactions with your riders and anyone who can benefit from a visual communication style.
You will learn the alphabet, numbers, greetings and basic conversational words and phrases. Come have fun and learn at the same time!!
