Champion Our Herd by Becoming an Equine Sponsor
Our equines are the true heroes of our program. They carry our mission forward on their backs. They carry the burden of grief and help heal minds, bodies and souls. They show up for our participants every week, year after year, and always manage to bring their best.
Our horses help participants achieve things that most of us take for granted, such as walking, or feeling good about ourselves. Benefits of partnering with our equines include improved muscle tone, posture, range of motion, flexibility, social skills and emotional wellbeing. In addition, they provide a non-judgmental relationship, accepting individuals for who they are regardless of physical, emotional or social abilities.
You can help provide all of these benefits to those who need it most by becoming an equine sponsor today! Equine sponsorship costs $5,000 a year, and can be paid in annual, semi-annually, and quarterly installments.

As an Equine Sponsor, you’ll receive:
- Name/business displayed with your equine on the Herd page on our website
- Name/business on your equines stall
- Recognition at the Lucky Hearts Gala and in our Annual Report
- Special updates about your equine throughout the year
- A private Equine Experience Day where you can bring family, visit your horse, groom them, take photos and spend time getting to know them
What Do Our Equines Need?
Over the course of a year, the cost of feed, supplements, shavings, horseshoes, training and veterinary care costs around $5,000 per horse. This is one of the biggest line items in our budget every year.
- Our horses eat over 76 tons of hay a year = $330/ton
- They also eat 650lbs of grain a week = $420/week
- Bedding delivery for stalls once a month = $750/month
- They are shoed every 8 weeks = $250/set of shoes
- Each of our horses have at least 2 vet wellness calls a year = $150+/visit
- Equine veterinary emergencies happen and can cost thousands. Sponsorship can save lives!
